Our Backgrounds

Orlando S.D.A Primary School is a Christian based institution was
founded in 1950 since then it has been serving the community of Soweto. The school has a capicity for Grade R-7. The school has taught children of high-profile persons like Nelson Mandela's son Makgatho Mandela, and furthermore Nelson Mandela mentions our school in his book Long Walk To Freedom, Mr Walter Sisulu's son Mr Maxwell Sisulu who has served in our country's parliment and Sakhumzi Maqubela who owns one of the well progressing restaurents right behind the school on Vilakazi street.

Objectives

To promote useful labour that will strengthen the body, expand the mind and develop the character and make learners to experience the highest pleasure of their existence.
To develop a love of being stewards by taking care of God's environment.
To help our students to pursue and arrive at the truth so that they can be brought in touch with the unseen, mighty intelligence that is working in and through all.

Our Philosophy

Seventh-day Adventists, within the context of their basic belief, acknowledge that:
God is the creator and sustainer of the entire universe-animate and inanimate.
God created perfect human beings in his own image with power to think, choose and do.
God invites us to choose the plan of restoration and to relate to this creatively and responsibly until He intervenes in history to bring forth the new heavens and new earth that is promised in his word.
The Seventhy-Day Adventist Philosophy of educationis Christ centered. Adventists believe that that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God,s character and purposes can be understood as revealed in the Bible , in Jesus Christ and nature.
